Eggspectation

402 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78232

Eggspectation is a stylish breakfast/brunch restaurant in San Antonio.

Experience (Building, decoration, service)

A wonderfully decorated establishment with local art and decorations on the walls, Eggspectation has a very nice atmosphere. Every time I have visited Eggspectation I have been seated immediately. This is due to the large amount of tables in the restaurant, both indoor and outdoor, cable of seating large parties as well as many smaller groups. I have visited Eggspectation several times and on those visit the service has been anywhere from bad to just ok. Sometimes I barely saw the waiter, other times the waiter seemed unmotivated, which dampers the experience. They have a great building and atmosphere; hiring better people or training the ones they have will go along way in improving their guest’s experiences.

What keeps me coming back to Eggspectation is the food. My personal favorite item is the egg benedict with potatoes on the side. They offer a variety of different menu options not only for breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well. All their food is made with high quality ingredients. Each plate is made with larger portions in mind. I never felt like I was still hungry after eating here. Eggspectation also boasts a bar at which they make wide variety of beverages including my favorite coffee with Bailey’s Irish. The food is the main draw of this restaurant. Whatever you choose you will not be disappointed.

Eggspectation is rather expensive as far a brunch places go. For a single person, the cost would be around $11 on the low end and even more if you added a drink. They may dissuade some, but you pay for the quality of the food and it is worth it.
